Fruit Waffle at Sleepy Hollow Refreshments

Good news: You don’t have to break the bank to have an awesome time at the parks. Sure, sometimes you may want to splurge at an incredible sit-down restaurant or a character dining experience. But, many of the lesser-known food windows and snack stands can actually offer some of the best tasting food around. Here's our list of the 5 best spots to save money on great meals in the Magic Kingdom.

Sleepy Hollow Refreshments
Sit down in a covered area near the Hall of Presidents for a quick bite with an incredible view of Cinderella Castle. This food window in Liberty Square is known for their amazing waffle sandwiches and awesome Funnel Cakes. The Sweet and Spicy Chicken Waffle Sandwich is a must-try snack, as is the Fresh Fruit Waffle Sandwich with Chocolate-Hazelnut Spread. Share each of them with a family member for a great lunch. You can get an Egg and Cheese Waffle for breakfast too, served until noon daily. Even if you're not eating here you can stop by any time for a homemade Ice Cream Cookie Sandwich that's made with fresh baked cookies.

Mac and cheese at The Friar’s Nook

The Friar's Nook
If your family likes macaroni and cheese you're not going to believe how good it is at The Friar's Nook in Fantasyland across from Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. This walk-up window's classic mac and cheese is topped with toasted panko bread crumbs and is the perfect balance of ooey and gooey. Order the Barbecue Chicken Macaroni & Cheese for a quick and satisfying complete meal. You can get other lunch items like hot dogs and chips here as well. For dessert, Storybook Treats is right next door. They offer soft-serve ice cream, sundaes, floats and hot coffee to go.

 Specialty Dog at Casey’s Corner

Casey's Corner
This restaurant at the corner of Main Street U.S.A. near the center hub of the park can get a little crowded during lunch hours, but that's because everyone knows how good the food is here! Order a classic Chili-Cheese Hot Dog for yourself or share the Foot-Long version with your special someone. If you want the best and most affordable option, don’t miss the Corn Dog Nuggets meal. You’ll get huge portions for the price, and these little guys are wonderfully tasty. Plus, they come with a generous portion of shoestring fries.

Pizza Frusta at The Lunching Pad

Lunching Pad & Cool Ship
The Lunching Pad & Cool Ship are quick and easy food options in the center of Tomorrowland. You won't have to wait in long lines to grab your grub here. The Lunching Pad specializes in stuffed pretzels and hot dogs while Cool Ship offers a tasty Pizza Frusta. This stuffed folded dough is filled with melted cheese and your choice of pepperoni or sausage. It's great for grabbing lunch on the go when you don't want to miss your next FastPass time! Enjoy these quick meals at one of the covered seating areas directly beneath the People Mover and Astro Orbiter rides.

Nuggets at Golden Oak Outpost

Golden Oak Outpost & Tortuga Tavern
Order up some tasty Chicken Nuggets from the small Old-West style building named after Walt Disney's own ranch, the Golden Oak. Located on the edge of Frontierland and Adventureland, this food service window offers only nuggets and fries, but unlike everywhere else in the park, they have crispy waffle-cut fries here! Take your food over to the nearby Tortuga Tavern in Adventureland for a nice place to eat indoors. You can also get a giant Turkey Leg or hot dog combo at Tortuga. Plus, they serve a decadent dessert made of chocolate almond cake topped with caramel, whipped cream and chocolate gold coins that the little pirates in your family can share!

A few more tips to save money at the park. You can order any quick service meal without the side: If you're not hungry enough for those fries, or you know you'll be sharing someone else's, you can usually order the main dish by itself even if it's not listed on the menu. Order a snack as your meal: You can pick up something like the Plaza Loaded Fries at The Plaza Restaurant as your meal, or share one meal and an extra side with your significant other. And for an inexpensive healthy option you can order something from the Mickey Check Meals menu available at most locations.
