Heads Up! by Ellen DeGeneres is fun, funny, and a great way to spend time on Walt Disney World attraction lines.

Let’s face it, Walt Disney World is a popular place and more times than not you will find yourself waiting in line for your favorite ride, show or attraction. But that’s ok because first of all, it will be well worth your wait and secondly, Best of Orlando has come up with several ways to kill time while waiting in a queue.
Here are our favorites:

Heads up! App – The game the New York Times called a “Sensation” and Cosmopolitan said “will be the best dollar you’ve spent” (Now a Free Download,) Heads Up! is the fun game from Ellen DeGeneres that quizzes you on your favorite movies, TV shows, music and more. If you’re the one being challenged you will hold the phone up to your forehead and try to guess the word from clues your friends give you before the timer runs out. If you guess correctly you’ll tilt the phone down. If you want to pass the question tilt the phone up. The fun part about this app is that while your friend mimes and makes funny noises to give you clues, the app is recording everything she or he is doing, and makes it easy for you to share on social media, email, or even sending it to Ellen herself. This is a hilarious way to pass the time in line and see how much you know about pop culture and more. And who knows, you just might get a Disney question! There are other apps out there, but this one is fun and can be played with multiple people like have two people guessing or two people miming.

My Disney Experience App – Speaking of apps, the My Disney Experience App can help you plan what you’ll do next during your Walt Disney World trip. From browsing restaurant menus and making dining reservations to getting wait times for attraction and reserving FastPass+ reservations, this app is perfect for the planner in your group and will do a great job keeping them/you occupied while you wait in line, especially if your plans have changed.

Interactive queues or ride videos/story – Don’t forget that many of Disney’s rides and attractions offer interactive queues or a video/story to go along with the attraction. Many of these will easily keep you occupied for a good portion of your wait and help you better understand what ride you’re about to experience.

Hidden Mickeys – Regardless of where you are in Disney you can play the Hidden Mickeys game, even when you are waiting in line. This fun-filled game will have you searching high and low for Mickey Mouse heads in the queue. Keep your eyes peeled for the character’s face and you’ll be surprised where you find him!

Buy snacks – If you have kids with you in the queue line a great way to keep them from getting bored is to feed them! You’ll need somebody to stay in line while get out of the line and find the nearest snack cart. This is a great time to try a treat you never have before.

Social Media – Update your status and share photos with your friends (and BestofOrlando too) – For the past several months Disney has encouraged guests to Show Your Disney Side. Waiting in line is the perfect time to snap some photos of yourself and your friends inside the park and share on Facebook and Instagram with the hashtag #DisneySide. And while you do don’t forget to share with BestofOrlando too!

Conversations – Maybe it goes without saying, but one of the oldest and best things to do while in line is to start a conversation! Talk to people around you or Cast Members. There is nothing like getting to know the people who wait in line with you. Ask your fellow line mates where they are from, what’s they’re favorite ride, etc and you’ll be surprised what you find out. The same goes for a Cast Member if you can find one! Sometimes they can give you great insight about the ride and show you some secrets you never seen before.
