Next time you’re driving on I-Drive in Orlando, treat your party to an unforgettable experience at Fun Spot Attractions with the SkyCoaster. I recently went to try to conquer the HUGE Skycoaster, and the experience was uplifting. There are two Fun Spot park locations in Orlando and they each have their own SkyCoaster, one at the Fun Spot USA Kissimmee near Walt Disney World and another one on International Drive near Universal Orlando, so it’s easy to make room for Fun Spot, no matter what you’re doing in Orlando that weekend, plus Fun Spot has Free Admission, Free Parking, and Free Wi-Fi. Usually Go-Karts, roller coasters, and carnival rides are enough for a fun afternoon, but some days you might just want free-fall up to 80 MPH on an attraction that combines Skydiving and Hang Gliding into one incredible thrill ride. That in a nutshell is the SkyCoaster. The World’s Tallest SkyCoaster is located in Kissimmee, which stand 300 feet in the air. I traveled to the International Drive location, Fun Spot America, where the SkyCoaster measures 250 feet.

It may be 50 feet shorter than the World’s Tallest, but when you’re suspended that high up and the people on the ground start looking like tiny ants; all of that goes out the window because you realize how long of a free-fall is from 250 feet. I can tell you from experience; it’s no joke. That’s not even the best moment though. The best moment for me was having the control to start the descend when I was ready for it. For the SkyCoaster, you’ll have a ripcord by your side, so you are the only one that can pull the trigger on your flight. I must admit that I didn’t want to go through with it for a moment. As you see all of Orlando including Universal Orlando from above, falling face forward is really daunting.  So when you’re staring straight at the ground from above and you think you might want to change your mind, that’s when you need to push through. They’ll start the countdown: 3, 2, 1…. FLY! I’d recommend not thinking about it too much and grab on to the ripcord and pull it! You’ll suddenly feel what’s been keeping you suspended release. It’s a freeing feeling as you nose dive down at incredible speeds before you eventually start swooping past the SkyCoaster building and over the lake. After a few swings, they’ll reel you in and get you on solid ground once again. And the fun doesn’t stop there, after you’re flight, go down stairs to the SkyCoaster gift shop where you can see how you managed on you flight. The video is only $15 and includes a SkyCoaster T-shirt, which is well worth it! I’ve got a T-Shirt and the video I can show to everybody from now until I’m an old man. I might have screamed like a girl, but I did it! Have You?
