The start of fall may be a month away but that hasn’t stopped Orlando from producing some of the hottest temperatures of the year. If you’re heading to Universal Orlando while the temperatures in Central Florida are still scorching, you may be tempted to find refuge from the hot sun in one of the Orlando theme park’s many wet attractions. So to better help you plan your Universal Orlando trip here are the best water rides and water areas at Universal Orlando: Islands of Adventure begins our list with the very cool and very wet water ride Jurassic Park River Adventure. This thrilling ride uses a whopping 1.5 million gallons of water and an 85-foot drop down a waterfall that drops you into a cool pool at the end to keep you refreshed and wet all day long! Dudley Do-Right’s Ripsaw Falls at Toon Lagoon is by far one of Islands of Adventures’ wettest rides as it takes guests on a watery flume adventure that ends with a final drop, plunging guests 15 feet below the water line! By the end of the ride, you’re soaked, but if for some miracle you’ve evaded getting drenched the coined-operated shooters at the very end of the ride always has someone feeding the slot machine to completely soak riders. Popeye & Bluto’s Bilge Rat Barges offers two different ways to keep cool and get really wet! The rapid adventure ride first dumps boat loads of water into your raft as you dodge logs and debris along the way and just when you think the soaks are over, you’ll get hit again by kids who dump buckets of water and shoot water cannons into your raft at the ride’s interactive play area, “Me, Ship the Olive.” Kids can also enjoy their own watery fun at Universal Orlando with some great play areas that offer plenty of splashes to keep them cool and laughing all day long. Over at the If I Ran the Zoo play area kids can play in a cage made of water. The water cage is a great place to pretend to catch your friends and siblings in a watery space, not to mention a fun way to keep cool while playing. For a gentle mist, try Poseidon’s Fury the water tunnel and the show offer great splashes. Also, in the Lost Continent, watch out for the inquisitive Mystic Fountain. He tends to blow off some steam by wetting the unexpected tourist. While not as wet as Islands of Adventure, Universal Studios still offers a few splashy play areas for the kids to enjoy including the Curious George Goes To Town area. Filled with pumps, valves, hoses, and levers, this splashy play area lets kids drench themselves and each other. Nothing says wet fun like a water slide and Fievel’s Playland offers just that with a twisting, turning 200-foot long water slide that splashes into a pool at the end!
