Blue Man Group Orlando Performing Sensory-Friendly Show with Autism Speaks

On January 21, Blue Man Group Orlando will host its second-annual sensory-friendly show for children with autism. The special performance is a part of a national partnership between Blue Man Group and Autism Speaks, the world’s leading autism science and advocacy organization.

“We are overjoyed that Blue Man Group is continuing their partnership with Autism Speaks,” said Peter Morton, Autism Speaks vice president of corporate development in a statement. “This is an initiative that not only raises funds and awareness but also provides families with the unique opportunity to experience Blue Man Group in a setting that meets their needs. We are grateful for this commitment to the autism community.”

The production will create a safe and welcoming environment for individuals and families affected by autism while still providing the fun and excitement of a Blue Man Group show. Guests won’t find the signature bright lights and loud noises of the Blue Men at this show. Instead, the production has tamed things down a bit by reducing sound and light levels at various moments and making headphones available upon request. Audience interaction will also be limited. For guests needing a break, the show’s lobby will provide a calming environment.

The special performance is part of a national partnership between Blue Man Group and Autism Speaks, in which Blue Man Group pledges to give $25,000 to the cause and host autism-friendly shows in their other cities like Boston, Chicago, Las Vegas and New York City.   Come see the sensory-friendly show on January 21 with discounted Blue Man Group tickets right here on Best of Orlando.
