Celebrate the Holidays at Universal Orlando

In just nine days, Orlando theme parks will begin transforming their parks into wintry wonderlands filled with holiday cheer and plenty of holiday fun the entire family can enjoy. Universal Orlando is getting into the holiday spirit with tons of old and new holiday-themed events the whole family will enjoy. Guests will come face-to-face with the Grinch and the Whos from Whoville, watch the always exciting Macy’s Holiday Parade, sing along to classic holiday tunes and stroll through a holiday-trimmed park for an event that is sure to put you in the holiday spirit! Here’s what to expect at Universal’s two parks this holiday season:

Since Thanksgiving on the calendar it’s only appropriate that we highlight The Macy’s Holiday Parade at Universal Studios first! Guests will be able to experience all of the excitement and floats of Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade without leaving Orlando. Just like the real one, Macy’s Holiday Parade will feature colorful holiday characters, fantasy-filled floats, dozens of larger-than-life balloons, marching bands, clowns, Santa Clause and the spectacular tree-lighting ceremony in the New York backlot of the theme park. Macy’s Holiday Parade runs Dec. 1 through Jan. 1.

The holidays aren’t the holidays without music and what better way to help you spread the holiday cheer than with the biggest selling Christmas artist of all time – Mannheim Steamroller? The acclaimed musical group will take to the Music Plaza stage with their trumped up Christmas songs eight times this year Beginning Dec. 1 and running on select dates including Dec. 2, 8, 9, 15, 16, 22, 23.

For more holiday music at Universal Orlando don’t miss The Blues Brothers Holiday Show where Jake and Elwood perform holiday favorites like “Santa Clause Is Coming To Town” and more. Guests can also join everybody’s favorite purple dinosaur Barney and his friends for a sing-along, clap-along holiday show at A Day In The Park With Barney.

Things aren’t as cheery at Islands of Adventure as the Grinch from Dr. Seuss’ book “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” is brought to life throughout the park in Grinchmas Wholiday Spectacular at Seuss Landing. Guests can step into the whimsical world of Grinchmas and experience a not-so-grinchy-but rather-heart-warming live show featuring the popular characters from the popular book and even the Wonky Tree Lot!
