First Look: Disneys Pandora World of Avatar at Animal Kingdom

Walt Disney World has released some more information about the highly-anticipated Pandora: World of Avatar at Animal Kingdom. Best of Orlando was given a sneak peak of the immersive new world with a video of just what the plant life and rides will look like.

To give you a bit of background, the area is set after the first movie, when the Na’vi and humans are no longer in conflict and they have welcomed guests to Pandora to experience its gorgeous nature. The beautiful thing about Pandora is that you will be completely immersed in the world with its bioluminescent forest, glowing plant life and even Na’vi. There will be nothing that will make you feel like you are anywhere else but Pandora.

Pandora: World of Avatar opens at Animal Kingdom on May 27th

One of the highlights of the world will be the Na’vi River Journey Dark Boat Ride that takes guests through the bioluminescent forest. Everything here will be alive, including the massive jelly fish that hang from the ceiling. You will see viper wolves and other animals running past in the forest as you float along. The ride speaks to the importance of nature in Pandora, which is also a core value of Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

While this video didn’t include any footage of Avatar Flight of Passage we know that the ride will be more thrilling while the Na’vi River Journey will be more epic and immersive.

That’s all of the new details we have for today but check back as we get closer to the May 27 opening of Pandora: World of Avatar. In the meantime you can check out the construction and the rest of Disney’s Animal Kingdom’s animals and thrills with discounted Walt Disney World tickets right here on Best of Orlando.
