First Look at TapuTapu – Redefining Wait Lines at Volcano Bay

Universal Orlando introduces TapuTapu wearable technology

Universal’s new water park, Volcano Bay officially opens May 25, 2017, and we just got a first look at the technology that will make this park different from any other - the TapuTapu wearable.   '

The TapuTapu Wearable is a wristband that will be given to guests when they arrive at Volcano Bay. The band has several different features, the most exciting being its ability to work as a virtual “placeholder” in lines at the park’s attractions. The bracelet also triggers interactive elements throughout the park called Tap To Play.

TapuTapu will help you interact with Universal’s Volcano Bay

While you wait for your time on your ride of choice you are invited to relax on Waturi Beach, brave Tewa The Fearless River or take another thrilling ride. When it is time for your ride, TapuTapu will alert you to head over to the attraction.

Various “tap-to-play” experiences area also available with the TapuTapu. In addition to checking out other attractions while you wait on a specific one, the wearable lets you activate several elements of the park’s water features including streams of water spurting from whales in Tot Tiki Reef, water cannons in Kopiko Wai Winding River and you can even illuminate images in the volcano’s hidden caves.

Stay tuned of more details on Volcano Bay’s grand opening and the TapuTapu Wearable. In the meantime you can check out Universal Orlando or Islands of Adventure with discounted tickets right here on BestofOrlando.com!
