Jimmy Fallon Celebrates Opening of New Universal Orlando Ride

Jimmy Fallon celebrated the grand opening of Race Through New York at Universal Orlando

Guests joined “The Tonight Show” host Jimmy Fallon to celebrate the grand opening of Universal Orlando’s newest ride, Race through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon. The all-new attraction takes riders on an adventure through the Big Apple against Jimmy Fallon himself. Along the way you will experience some of New York’s most popular landmarks and even smell the smells of the city, like pizza!

Fallon kicked off the celebration with a New York-style ticker tape parade at Universal Studios with tons of confetti, a custom float and Universal Orlando characters. The “Tonight Show” house band The Roots joined Fallon on the float, as did announcer Steve Higgins and an array of characters from the show, including Hashtag Panda, the Ragtime Gals barbershop quartet, and Stepdad Gary from the “Ew!” sketch. There was a ribbon cutting and a countdown just before the ride officially opened.

“I’m happy. I’m grateful. I’m excited. This whole experience has been a real emotional rollercoaster simulator,” said Jimmy Fallon during the grand opening.

Race Through New York is the first ride at Universal Studios to feature the all-new Virtual Line experience, allowing guests to explore other areas of the park while they “wait in line.”
