New ‘Up’ Show Stars Russell and Dug at Animal Kingdom

Russell and Dug Stars in New Animal Kingdom Show

Walt Disney World is bringing guests their favorite characters from the Disney/Pixar film Up in a brand-new live stage show at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

As part of the “12 Days of Christmas,” the company announced that Russell and Dug would be featured in Animal Kingdom’s newest live performance, beginning in 2018. The show will follow Senior Wilderness Explorer Russell and his dog friend Dug as they discover new species of birds from around the world. The show will take place at the Caravan Theater in Anandapur village and is set to run multiple encounters each day.

To make room for the new show, Disney’s Animal Kingdom is saying goodbye to Flights of Wonder. It sounds as though the Up production will be similar, introducing visitors to exotic birds that they’ve never seen before.

You have until December 31 to see Flights of Wonder.

The new show is one of many additions to Animal Kingdom next year, as the park celebrates its 20th anniversary.

Stay tuned for more details on the new Up show featuring Russell and Dug. In the meantime, get in one final viewing of Flights of Wonder with discounted tickets to Walt Disney World here on Best of Orlando.
