Unofficially the last day of summer, Labor Day Weekend is a great time to gather the family for one last summer trip to Orlando theme parks. And this three-day weekend, there are plenty of new attractions and events to experience before the rush of the holidays begin. Here’s what to expect this Labor Day in Orlando:

The Great Irish Hooley at Raglan Road at Downtown Disney ® returns for a second year beginning August 30 to Sept. 2. Irish slang for a party or celebration, the Great Irish Hooley returns to Downtown Disney ® with top Irish bands, music and dance workshops. Guests can expect Labor Day fun with such bands as Scythian; Lisa Canny; and Elevation, a U2 tribute band.  The event will also feature dancing known as Ceili, Celtic face-painting and Irish fare by celebrity chef Kevin Dundon.

At SeaWorld Orlando you can enjoy one last chill before in the summer heat on the aquatic park’s newest attraction Antarctica: Empire of the Penguin. The biggest and most expansive attraction to ever hit SeaWorld Orlando, Antarctica: Empire of the Penguin takes riders on an epic exploration into the icy world of Antarctica where penguins dwell. You’ll even see life in the freezing place through the eyes of one penguin looking for his family. Then, you’ll stop and explore a real penguin colony in an expansive area that envelops you in some pretty chilly weather.

Much like SeaWorld Orlando, Universal Orlando will be celebrating the three-day weekend with their newest ride Transformers 3D the Ride. You can join the battle and take on Megatron and the Decepticons who are planning an attack that would decimate the planet. When you do you’ll join forces with Optimus Prime, Bumblebee and the rest of the Autobots for an unbelievably thrilling ride that puts you on the front lines of an intergalactic war. Using groundbreaking HD 3D media and Flight Simulation technology, you won’t be able to tell reality from fiction in this hit ride. Also, check out the brand new Springfield USA area, and eat The Big Pink at Lard Lad Donuts.

Spend three-days exploring the World of Chima at LEGOLAND Florida where you and the kids will enjoy water cannons, mini ripcord powered vehicles and mystical animals on the area’s many rides and attractions. The three-acre area is a mythical place where all things revolve around CHI, an energy source that gives animals extraordinary powers. The main attraction, “Quest for CHI” will have you fighting the crocodiles to recover the energy source while Speedorz Arena will let the kids race mini vehicles and Cragger’s Swamp let’s the littlest ones in your group splash and play with interactive elements.

Labor Day is just the start of a busy September in Orlando. Make sure you check back soon for more Orlando theme park September events like Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom ® and Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando.
