Plenty of Parties to Celebrate the New Year in Orlando

You don’t have to travel to New York City to experience a spectacular New Year’s Eve celebration. Several Orlando theme parks and attractions will be celebrating the New Year with live concerts, champagne toasts, fireworks and even a ball drop for one unforgettable night. Here are the biggest New Year’s Eve celebrations in Orlando:

Orlando’s premier New Year’s Eve party kicks off at Universal’s CityWalk where guests can sing into 2013 with rock stars REO Speedwagon live in concert! Plus, it’s not a real celebration if there isn’t any dancing, that’s why Universal is giving guests admission to seven nightclubs with live entertainment including Latin Quarter with DJ Leony, Red Coconut Club with Herb Williams & Live DJ, CityWalk’s Rising Star with Karaoke with the Center Stage Band & Live DJ, Jimmy Buffets Margaritaville with Micha and the Reason, Bob Marley – A Tribute To Freedom with Chain Reaction & Live DJ, Pat O’Brien’s with Dueling Pianos and the Groove with Live DJ. CityWalk’s New Year’s Eve celebration begins at 8 and runs until 2 a.m.

If this New Year’s Eve is a family event, make sure you get to Downtown Disney ® for an exciting night of fun, games and dancing at DisneyQuest Indoor Interactive theme park. Parents and adults alike will love saying farewell to 2012 as they enjoy virtual reality, 3D encounters and classic video games at DisneyQuest’s five floors of interactive fun! Your DisneyQuest New Year’s Eve ticket includes:

• Access to all DisneyQuest attractions and video games
• Meet-and-greets with some of your favorite Disney Characters
• 2 DJ dance parties
• A New Year's Eve countdown and a confetti drop at midnight
• A personal pizza, hot dog, cheeseburger, Italian sausage sandwich or a barbecue chicken breast and your choice of side salad or potato chips, your choice of cupcake or fruit cup, and a soda

Families can also take part in Walt Disney World’s ® for “Limited Time Magic” at Magic Kingdom ® Park. You can “Bling in the New Year” in Tomorrowland with plenty of your favorite characters and an hourly “countdown to midnight” from December 30 to January 5. Plus, you’ll get your chance at buying a special set of Mickey ears that Walt Disney World ® will be releasing every month.

Families can also ring in the New Year with your favorite wild animal during Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo’s “Noon” Year’s Eve daytime celebration. Unlike the typical New Year’s Eve celebrations, “Noon” Year’s Eve begins when the zoo opens with games, arts and crafts, live entertainment, educational displays and more. Families can ring in the New Year kid-style with noisemakers, hats and a juice toast as the clock strikes NOON! Activities are included with Zoo admission.

LEGOLAND Florida will also be catering to the kids this New Year’s Eve with two special events - Countdown to Kid’s New Year’s Eve and Kid’s New Year’s Eve. Now through Dec. 30 kids can celebrate the New Year early with Countdown to Kids New Year’s Eve where they’ll enjoy nightly fireworks that don’t just explode in the sky, they turn into millions of tiny LEGO bricks with the help of 3D glasses! Then on Dec. 31, families can watch the giant LEGO ball drop at the time most suitable for kids, KST - Kid Standard Time, or 6 p.m. Plus, the LEGO fireworks return for one more spectacular nighttime display.
