Splash Mountain at Disney’s Magic Kingdom

The summer heat is already upon us here in Orlando, but thankfully we have the greatest water rides in the world to help keep us cool. Here are the best rides to get soaked, splashed and sprayed at the theme parks this summer!

Splash Mountain at Disney's Magic Kingdom
This is Walt Disney World’s ultimate flume ride, filled with over 100 animatronic critters, unforgettable indoor scenes, delightful songs and of course the 5-story drop at the end! Along the way are fun little dips to prepare you for what's to come. Depending on where you sit you can get anywhere from a little wet to completely soaked. Sit up front to get the biggest splash. It's so much fun you'll be humming “Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah” long after the ride is over.

Kali River Rapids at Disney's Animal Kingdom

With so many outdoor attractions at Animal Kingdom, Kali River Rapids is the perfect way to cool off in the middle of the day. This river raft ride takes you through the dense jungles of Asia. First you'll travel up the 90-foot ascent filled with mist, then pass a spraying geyser and finally soar down a fast-moving river. The whole time your raft bobs and spins while you're splashed and sprayed from every angle!

Journey to Atlantis at SeaWorld Orlando

Journey to Atlantis at SeaWorld Orlando
Not only is this a fun flume ride with an incredible 60-foot plunge, but it features unique roller coaster elements as well. It's the best of both worlds! Despite the big drop and coaster spills, this SeaWorld Orlando attraction is splashy fun for the whole family. The attraction begins deep under the ocean, in the sunken city of Atlantis, with wildly impressive lighting and visual effects.

No doubt about it, you will get soaked on this ride at Universal’s Islands of Adventure. If the splashing from the white water rapids doesn’t get you then the waterfalls, leaky pipes and spraying hoses will. Enjoy the immersive storytelling and clever cartoon humor while they spray every inch of you until there isn't a dry patch left. Watch out for the giant octopus in the cave!

Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls at Universal's Islands of Adventure

You're going to get super soaked on this slapstick-style flume ride. Many of the silly scenes include parodies of other famous rides like Pirates of the Caribbean and Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. The 75-foot drop is the real star, though, taking riders under what appears to be the water level, resulting in an explosive ending filled with big splashes and loud water cannons.

What could be better than a relaxing cruise through a tropical jungle? Everything is going smoothly as you're taking in the sights and watching the gentle giants like Stegosaurus grazing, when all of a sudden your boat veers off course. Now there are raptors salivating, and trying to eat you. Suddenly you see the mighty T-Rex standing in front of you. The only escape is an exhilarating near-vertical drop 85 feet straight down into the waters below!

One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish at Universal's Islands of Adventure

One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish at Universal's Islands of Adventure
This kid-friendly ride inspired by the Dr. Seuss story allows you to fly in a fish up to 15 feet in the air. As you soar around and around you can control whether you go up or down. Listen to the song lyrics to know when to move where, because if you're not careful you'll be sprayed by the fishes. If your goal is to cool off on a hot day you can do the opposite of what the song tells you and get splashed every time!

Quest for CHI at LEGOLAND Florida

Quest for CHI at LEGOLAND Florida
A totally different kind of water ride, the Quest for CHI is an interactive experience that allows you to fire water cannons at various targets throughout the LEGOLAND attraction. Guests get to stand up on this boat adventure that features characters from LEGO's World of Chima. Not only are you going to get soaked from the massive waterfalls on the ride, but children back on land can fire water cannons at you as well.

Stanley Falls at Busch Gardens Tampa

This classic style flume ride is filled with fast twists, turns and drenching drops. One of the best things about this old-fashioned flume is being able to look out over the park from 40 feet in the air before the final drop down to the base of roaring Stanley Falls.
