Toy Story Land Revealed: Slinky Dog Dash Coaster Vehicle Arrives

Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios hit a major milestone today with the arrival of the first ride vehicle for Slinky Dog Dash. One of two major attractions to call the new land home, Slinky Dog Dash will be a family fun coaster that will “shrink” guests to the size of toys as they explore Andy’s backyard. The ride will open along with the land in the summer of 2018.

The entire land will emulate the feeling of being a toy as you explore Andy’s backyard. That means the track and the blocks around it will be huge. Also joining Slinky Dog Dash in the 11-acre land will be the Alien Swirling Saucers, which are designed after the iconic aliens from the first movie, and will of course feature “the claw.”

Slinky Dog Dash will be a unique attraction that will integrate the actual sensation of a slinky as riders will dip and dash around banks and turns. Bob Vignec, Staff Project Engineer for Toy Story Land, was on hand to discuss the innovation saying “one of the unique characteristics of this design is that the vehicle and the track are melded together to act both for a fun effect for the people on it and for a big kinetic effect for the people who are watching it.”

The two rides will be part of the impressive new land set to debut in summer of 2018. Be sure to book your ticket now to experience Disney’s Hollywood Studios and all of its new attractions with BestofOrlando.com!
