In a little over a month guests to Universal Orlando can experience the most spectacular celebration of the Big Easy without stepping foot in New Orleans during Universal Studios Mardi Gras! Every year the Orlando theme park invites families for a New Orleans-styled party filled with music, parades, street performers, authentic Cajun cuisine, beads and more for a Mardi Gras party you won’t forget!

Part of the excitement of Universal Studios’ Mardi Gras is the excellent concerts from some of the biggest names in the music industry. This year Universal recently announced “Blurred Lines” singer Robin Thicke would make an appearance at the wild event Feb. 22 and English-Irish boy band The Wanted will make the ladies swoon May 10. Universal has yet to release the full Mardi Gras concert lineup but stay tuned for more details as we’re sure to see more big names pop up over the next month.

Robin Thicke and The Wanted won’t be the only musicians on hand during Universal’s Mardi Gras. Guests will get a real feel of The Big Easy with some of New Orleans’ most popular bands performing authentic blues, zydeco and more. The city’s signature sounds have influenced people around the world so get ready for a toe-tapping good time! While you dance to the beats of New Orleans, try authentic Cajun cuisine including Spicy Jambalaya, Grilled Andouille Sausage, Shrimp Gumbo, Red Beans and Rice and warm beignets at the French Quarter Courtyard.

In addition to the incredible concerts and musicians in the French Quarter, Universal Studios Mardi Gras will take you right to the Streets of N’awlins with a dazzling parade that winds its way through the park. Floats and colorful street performers make up the parade, as do plenty of beads that are thrown into the crowd from the floats! Kids will even get in on the excitement from the Little Jester’s parade viewing area located next to the Terminator 2: 3D attraction.

Kid-free adults or parents who find a babysitter can keep the Mardi Gras fun going all night long with the CityWalk After-Party. The fun includes more New Orleans music, food and more in seven CityWalk clubs and bars including the popular Pat O’Brien’s – CityWalk’s Mardi Gras Headquarters.
