It’s officially summertime, and Orlando theme parks are celebrating the season with concerts, “Frozen” adventures, explosive Fourth of July events and so much more. If you’re planning a trip to an Orlando theme park this July here is a rundown of what fun you’re about to encounter:

Independence Day

We can’t talk about events in July without talking about the 4th of July. Orlando theme parks love fireworks and when there is a holiday where shooting off fireworks is expected, you can bet the parks take advantage.

Walt Disney World – Disney will offer several Fourth of July celebrations throughout their parks including the Disney’s “Celebrate America – A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky” at Magic Kingdom on July 3 & 4. Walt Disney World guests can also celebrate the holiday by rockin’ out during a special fireworks presentation set to rock ‘n roll music at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. At Epcot, Disney characters dressed in patriotic costumes will roam the park, and there will be special performances by Voices of Liberty at the America Gardens Theatre stage and inside the American Adventure Rotunda.

LEGOLAND Florida – The theme park will celebrate Independence Day with their annual Red, Brick & Boom for three days running July 3, 4 & 5. The explosive event features a brick flag build and fireworks that look like exploding bricks when you wear the 3D glasses at LEGOLAND!

SeaWorld OrlandoSeaWorld will host its Fourth of July Celebration that includes more explosive fireworks as well as nighttime entertainment like the all-new Shamu’s Celebration: Light Up the Night. Bayside Stadium will get in on the Independence Day fun with a patriotic-inspired show that features 25 singers and a nine-piece band. The show will conclude with a special Fourth of July fireworks finale.

Concerts and Summer Fun

Summertime is for concerts, and this July it’s all about the music at Orlando theme parks beginning with Epcot’s Sounds like Summer Concert Series. The annual music event brings the world’s best tribute bands to the stage including:

  • Don’t Look Back: A Tribute to Boston – June 27 to July 4
  • Fire & Ice: A Tribute to Pat Benatar – July 5 to July 11
  • Stayin’ Alive: A Tribute to the Bee Gees – July 12 to 18
  • Hotel California: A Salute to the Eagles – July 19 to 25

When you’re not rockin’ out to the tribute bands you can cool off at Disney’s Hollywood Studios during Frozen Summer Fun. Throughout July, the park will be transformed into Arendelle as Elsa, Anna, Kristoff and Olaf perform in sing-alongs, parades and more! Frozen Summer Fun runs now through September 7.

SeaWorld Orlando and Busch Gardens Tampa are getting in on the concert and summer nights fun with their annual Summer Nights event. At SeaWorld Orlando, guests can celebrate America with a special concert series as well as the new nighttime shows Clyde & Seamore’s Sea Lion High and Shamu’s Celebration: Light Up the Night. At Busch Gardens Tampa, experience the park’s thrilling rides, shows and attractions at night and then watch the award-winning Kinetix show.

Races

July isn’t just about fireworks and theme parks. The Daytona International Speedway will welcome two major races: Daytona Coke Zero 400 and the Subway Firecracker 250. It all starts Saturday, July 4th when the NASCAR Nationwide Series regulars go head-to-head against the Sprint Cup Series regulars for 250 miles in 100 laps in the Subway Firecracker 100. Then on Sunday, July 5, see the racing stars of the NASCAR Sprint Cup complete the 160 laps in the second major NASCAR race in Daytona.

Water Parks

As July heats up, so will Orlando water parks! If you’re looking for a way to keep cool this month look no further than Disney’s Blizzard Beach, Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon, Aquatica, and be sure to head to Wet ‘n Wild before it officially closes in 2016.
