Dress like your favorite characters at Walt Disney World this October

Halloween season is in full swing at Orlando theme parks. As you ready to go to one of the many Halloween events we encourage you to dress up, but before you do here are a few guidelines you need to follow in order to have a safe and fun Halloween:

Do dress Family-Friendly – Walt Disney World and SeaWorld Orlando both offer family-friendly Halloween events so it’s only appropriate that your costume reflect that. One of the best ways to keep things appropriate for all ages is to dress like one of the many characters from the park. You can really do anything; just make sure your kids have approved it!

Don’t use any weapons – The use of weapons or anything that could be used as a weapon is strictly off limits, no matter what park you are in this Halloween season. Things like foam light sabers and swords are prohibited but if you bring in an item that could potentially cause harm it could be confiscated.

Hats are ok – Guests can wear hats IF it doesn’t cover face.

13 under can wear mask – For guests 13 and under, masks are ok if it doesn’t fully cover face. Eyes and mouth typically need to be seen.

13 up cannot wear masks – Unfortunately if you are 13 and older you cannot wear masks of any kind, even if your face isn’t fully covered. Masks are especially banned at Universal Orlando’s Halloween Horror Nights as it can conflict with the existing characters.

Guests who dress up as characters cannot pose for photographs – You’ve dressed the part so it might be fun to stop and pose with other guests, but if you did dress up like any of Orlando theme park’s many characters, say Mickey or Minnie Mouse you cannot take pictures with other visitors. There are real costumed characters around to do that.

Have fun – These may seem like a lot of rules but Orlando theme parks just want to ensure your safety. Even with all of these guidelines there are still plenty of fun ways to dress up this Halloween.

So keep these tips in mind when you’re planning what costume to wear on your next visit to an Orlando Park, and be sure to visit Best of Orlando for the best prices on theme park tickets around!
