Get ready for the holidays at Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo for Wild Wonderland. Christmas cheer will be plentiful as you see over a million twinkling lights on display. Kids will revel in meeting Santa and his merry reindeer, as well as their feathered buddies in the penguin colony. A new 100-foot Arctic Blast Slide will thrill everyone in the family and nightly snow flurries in the zoo will give everyone a reason to take a “snow day.” Charming animated displays and fanciful storefronts will put a smile on your face. And you can meet some of the animals of Safari Africa under a starry night sky in the Safari Spectacular. There are also free zoo rides, Reindeer Games, and yummy holiday treats all around the zoo. So come out on select nights from Dec. 7 - Dec. 30 for a magical night your family will never forget!
Santa & His Reindeer
Even though he’s busy making his list and checking it twice, Santa -- and sometimes Mrs. Claus -- still has time to take photos and find what presents you want before Christmas. Once you’re done visiting with the Jolly Old Elf, take a chance to meet his reindeer in person and maybe whisper them your address so they know where they should stop during their holiday jaunt.
Arctic Blast Slide, Rides & Reindeer Games
There’s unlimited fun at the Lowry Park Zoo during Wild Wonderland with free rides, along with some holiday themed carnival games and its newest holiday experience, the Arctic Blast Slide. For those looking to add some thrills to their holiday romp, then take a trip down the 100-foot Arctic Blast Slide, new for this year’s event. Children can enjoy unlimited rides on such fun attractions as the Winter Carousel, Tasmanian Tiger Family Roller Coaster, Boomer’s Flying Bananas and much more. Kids can even test their luck with carnival games with the baseball toss or basketball.
Holiday Displays & Animal Fun
Lowry Park Zoo is all dressed for Christmas with gorgeous decorations everywhere in the zoo. Dazzling displays of lights accent animal figures, snowflakes, trees and “moving” displays all around the park that make everything positively magical. Don’t miss out on the Frozen Forest, a wonderland full glistening ice, snow and more. Some of the animals are staying up late for the wintry event. African penguins enchant visitors with extraordinary social and inquisitive behavior at their Penguin Beach exhibit. And be sure to check out Safari Spectacular, where you can visit some of the animals at the zoo at night.
