Visitors may come to Orlando for the great attractions in town, but there are many things to do here besides ride roller coasters, including lots of world-class shopping! With several malls, outlet centers and other various forms of retail-hunting, Orlando has many types of shopping to give you a break from your on-the-go ways of theme-park hopping!
Like most major cities, Orlando has various malls that are available for one-stop shopping. The City Beautiful actually has two major malls that top our list, and both are within a 15-minute drive of the attractions area. The most popular mall with the best variety in Central Florida is the Florida Mall, located just minutes from the Orlando International Airport on the corner of Orange Blossom Trail and Sand Lake Road in Orlando. And while this mall is great for the everyday shopper, as it has almost every major retail chain in America, the Mall at Millenia, which is located just off I-4 about five miles from Universal Orlando and about 15 from the Walt Disney World ® Resort, is home to over 120 stores that include the top names in fashion and all of the major sought-after designers and labels in one place.
In addition to its expansive malls, Orlando also has a plethora of factory outlets that draw big crowds every day of the year. The Orlando Premium outlets are located right off of I-4 in Lake Buena Vista and have become one of the hot spots for shoppers over the years with over 150 factory outlets filled with top designers, including Coach, Ralph Lauren, Dior and many more. The Prime Outlets, however, have experienced a large boom in foot traffic since the completion of its $150 million renovation, staking its claim as one of the top retail outlets in the country!
While the above are Orlando’s top shopping destinations, the city also features an excess of other shopping opportunities, including at the Walt Disney World ® Resort (the Downtown Disney ® Area and Main Street, U.S.A. at the Magic Kingdom ® Park), the Universal Orlando Resort (CityWalk), the International Drive corridor (the Festival Bay Mall and Pointe Orlando) and the Winter Park Village, which is located just north of Downtown Orlando. With all of this fabulous shopping, it’s clear to see that no matter where you go in Orlando, you will be sure to find great retail therapy!
