With so many award-winning shows taking place all over Central Florida, it is hard to justify which ones belong in the Top 10. Not only do the local theme parks house daily shows and performances, there are also numerous local dinner shows and even Broadway/theatre acts that have made the Orlando area their home due to the area’s popularity with tourism. But one thing is for sure – while it may be hard to narrow them down, it isn’t hard to see why this collaboration of show-stopping performances rank so high on our list!
There are many different types of shows that made the Top 10 cut, but the majority of them revolve around a concept that is popular in Orlando – the dinner show! While Medieval Times, Arabian Nights, the Pirate’s Dinner Adventure and the Sleuth’s Mystery Dinner Theatre are all dinner shows in the area that are separate from the area’s theme parks, there are two more, the Makahiki Luau (Sea World Orlando) and the Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue (Walt Disney World ® Resort) that are right in the heart of the local theme park scene. All of the dinner shows above may be different in presentation and in terms of the food served, but they all offer one common similarity – a night full of good family fun!
The remainder of our Top 10 list couldn’t be any more different from the aforementioned shows. Two of the remaining four shows, La Nouba ™ by Cirque du Soleil ® and Blue Man Group, are world-renowned stage names that have built permanent homes right here in Central Florida and give Orlando residents and visitors alike a new theater option in the middle of the tourist capitol of the world. Finally, the last two shows involve high-flying acts, just on very different scales! The NBA’s Orlando Magic, Orlando’s lone professional sports franchise, dazzles the fans in Amway Arena with their high-flying plays 41 nights a year through the regular season right in downtown Orlando (in addition to preseason and postseason games). The final show on our list, the Space & Air Show at the Kennedy Space Center, brings together military aircraft, pilots and astronauts to celebrate aviation and space flight in a two-day event in November.
With such a variety of top shows in one place, it might be hard to get to them all on your next Central Florida vacation, giving you even more reasons to come back to Orlando year after year!
