Description
As one of the first original Walt Disney World ® Resort hotels, Disney’s Contemporary Resort has set the bar high for Disney hotel standards. This ultra-modern and retro-futuristic resort is a Walt Disney World ® Resort staple. Standing just feet away from the gates of Magic Kingdom ® Park, Disney’s Contemporary Resort is a true historic icon.
Built as a 10-story A-frame, with connecting Garden Wings, Disney’s Contemporary Resort is home to top of the line service, amenities, and accommodations. Disney’s Contemporary Resort’s main tower holds all of the main attractions of the resort, including the famous in-resort Walt Disney World ® monorail stop, restaurants (such as the famous California Grill and the character dining option of Chef Mickey’s), shops, guest registration and services, and more. The main interior of the resort is decorated with the famous mural of the Grand Canyon and southwest by Disney artist, Mary Blair, and is surrounded by the modern silver architecture. The outside areas, rooms, and restaurants offer superior views of the nearby Space Mountain ® Attraction and Cinderella Castle, as well as the surrounding waters of Bay Lake.
The 665 guestrooms of the hotel offer standard views, garden views, Bay Lake views, and Magic Kingdom ® Park views in a modern setting. Each room is decorated with the utmost modern designs, with strong geometric patterns and lines accented by a rich earth-tone color palette of browns, oranges, yellows, and greens. The rooms are furnished with modern-looking wooden beds that are draped with plush white down comforters and plump pillows, with most rooms featuring sitting areas and walk-out furnished balconies. Each room also includes all of the top-of-the-line amenities of flat-screen TVs, wireless internet, refrigerators, in-room safes, and sleek marble walk-in private bathrooms.
Located along Bay Lake on Walt Disney World ® Resort property, Disney’s Contemporary Resort offers a variety of recreational activity options, including tennis, sand volleyball, water sports, and more. At the private marina of Disney’s Contemporary Resort, guests can rent sailboats & pontoon boats and, even, go waterskiing, wakeboarding, and tubing. Along Bay Lake there is also a white sand beach where families can kick-back and relax together. If a pool setting is more what you are looking for, the Contemporary offers swimming pools on-property, including a 17-foot water slide, two whirlpools, and a shallow wading pool for young guests. Guests are also encouraged to take advantage of the on-site Olympiad Fitness Center, where spa services are offered and fitness equipment is available for use.
