Description

Located within two miles of both Disney’s Blizzard Beach® Water Park and Disney’s Hollywood Studios™, Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort brings the spirit of the Southwest to the Walt Disney World® Resort. Guests can follow along with legendary explorer Don Francisco de Coronado in the search for the seven cities of gold, from the colorful spring-fed Fountain of the Doves in the resort’s main lobby to the Mayan-inspired Dig Site pool and all of the rustic charm in between.

The 1,917 rooms at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort are divided into three Spanish-style sections – the terra cotta paradise of the Casitas, the pueblo-style Ranchos and the beachfront Cabanas. Each guest room is located in either two or three-story structures with an elevator and stairs, and standard amenities include a TV, high-speed Internet access, refrigerators, in-room safes and a bathroom with a separate vanity area. Most guest rooms feature two double beds, but more than 200 rooms have a King-size bed. In addition to its large number of guest rooms, Disney’s Coronado Springs is also a popular convention center, offering the largest amount of meeting space at the Walt Disney World® Resort (over 220,000 square feet), including an 86,000 square-feet exhibit hall and a 60,000 square-feet ballroom.

The guest rooms and laid-back atmosphere of Disney’s Coronado Springs is only half its charm, however, as this resort is full of amenities as well. One of the highlights for any family is the Mayan-themed Dig Site, which offers a pool with a five-story pyramid, cascading waterfalls and one of the best water slides on property (not to mention the 22-person whirlpool that lies adjacent).

In addition to the Dig Site, the 15-acre Lago Dorado Lake provides not only the perfect backdrop for this charming resort, but a host of recreation activities as well with a full marina. Guests can also visit the La Vida Health Club, where massage therapy and exercise machines are available, or pamper themselves at Casa de Belleza with a pedicure or manicure. Several food options are also on hand at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, including the resort’s main restaurant, the Maya Grill, which is open for breakfast and dinner and serves Latin-American cuisine with an emphasis on seafood and meat dishes. The Pepper Market is full of quick service dining options with multiple cuisine options, while Café Rix is another on-site quick service hot spot for a quick meal any time of day. Finally, the Rix Lounge is an upscale getaway that offers appetizer-style food and cocktails every evening for adults.

Whether you are visiting Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort for a convention or vacation, the Southwest splendor of this luxurious resort will certainly make it hard to leave!
