Jedi Training

Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge – the brand new land coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios, won't be opening until 2019, but that doesn't mean you can't have a fun-filled day of lightsaber fights, space battles, and plenty more intergalactic entertainment right now. There's so much for families to do and see at the park already, and you won't even have to travel to a galaxy far, far away. Here's some of our favorite ways to get your Star Wars fix at Hollywood Studios.

Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple
The younglings in your family have the opportunity to learn the ways of the Force including how to wield a lightsaber in this 20-minute interactive show. Padawan training takes place at a secret Jedi temple, hidden deep at the corner of the galaxy where the evil Empire cannot find it. Students will learn how to use their new skills by facing some of the most frightening villains in the Star Wars universe, including the notorious Darth Vader. Children between the ages of 4 and 12 can register in the morning to participate in Jedi Training. It's first come first serve so be sure to sign up early. Even if you don't have kids, the show is a lot of fun to watch and you may learn a thing or two you didn't know about the Force. Next door at the Backlot Express you can fill up on specialty Star Wars foods like Darth Vader Chicken and Waffles and character cupcakes.

Character Meet and Greets

Character Meet & Greets
Now's your chance to meet some of your favorite characters from a galaxy far, far away! Climb aboard a Resistance freighter for your chance to meet BB-8, the lovable little rolling sphere droid. Visit a hidden Rebel base to meet the legendary Wookie, Chewbacca. And he's got a mission for you, if you can understand what he's saying that is. If you're brave enough, you can even come face-to-face with Kylo Ren, the most imposing member of the First Order. Be careful when you go to get your photo taken with the hotheaded Kylo, because he may attempt to lure you over to the dark side. All of these characters can be found at the Star Wars Launch Bay along with props and models from the films and a theater showing behind-the-scenes footage from the making of the movies.

Star Wars Daytime Shows

Star Wars Daytime Shows
Throughout the day you can catch live shows at the park’s Center Stage area in front of the Chinese Theater. Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away is a celebration of all the Star Wars generations featuring vignettes from the films and dozens of the beloved characters. You'll be able to see Rey, BB-8, Chewbacca, Kylo Ren, Darth Maul and more in this moving show with special effects and impressive pyrotechnics. Also throughout the day you can catch the March of the First Order. The intimidating Captain Phasma leads her army of Stormtroopers straight through Hollywood Boulevard to the Center Stage where they show off their loyalty to the First Order and skills with their weapons. Try not to be intimidated when they march right up to the first row of the audience, nose to nose. They're only following orders.
