This year, St. Patrick's Day falls on Saturday, March 17, and Orlando theme parks are celebrating with mighty festivals, green foliage, Irish food and more. Here are the 7 best ways to celebrate:
See Greenery at Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival
There won't be a shortage of green at the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival. Around every corner, Walt Disney World guests will find lush flowers, gardens and exhibits. Amongst the greenery will be one-of-a-kind topiaries created by a talented crew of Disney horticulturists. Be on the lookout for Anna and Elsa, Bambi and Friends, Beauty and the Beast, Buzz Lightyear and many more in green topiary form.
Don't just wear green this St. Patrick's Day, ride green on one of Orlando theme park's many green-colored thrill rides. Celebrate the holiday with the green ogre Shrek at Universal Studios' Shrek 4D. Enjoy all of the shenanigans of the beloved Shrek films and get in a good dose of green. Meanwhile, at Islands of Adventure experience what it's like to turn green on the thrill ride The Incredible Hulk Roller Coaster. On this ride you'll feel Hulk-like powers of the green monster as you speed through and smash up the track.
For an authentic Irish experience, head to Raglan Road Irish Pub and Restaurant in Disney Springs. Raglan Road will celebrate St. Patrick's Day with the mighty of mightiest Irish Festivals March 16 - 18. The festival includes everything you love about the Irish culture including a troupe of Irish Dancers, Irish food, tons of craft beers and cocktails, a dedicated Irish store, Irish bands and so much more.
Nothing is more Irish than Pat O'Brien's at Universal’s CityWalk. This St. Patrick's Day the Irish Pub will celebrate the day with dueling pianos and performances by the high-energy Celtic rock band, Off Kilter. There will also be St. Patrick's Day Food and plenty of libations.
Grab a St. Patrick's Day Mouse Ears Hat
Walt Disney World doesn’t want you to get pinched this St. Patrick's Day, which is why they are selling special St. Patrick's Day Mouse Ear Hats at Le Chapeau at Magic Kingdom and hat shops in Disney's Hollywood Studios. If you forget to wear green you can always snag one of these.
Visit the UK in Epcot
You might not be able to travel to Ireland this year but you can still take home a piece of the country with an Irish souvenir from the UK pavilion at Epcot. Look for the Ireland kiosk between the United Kingdom and Canada where you'll find a Minnie Mouse plush doll dressed in Irish garb, pub coasters, pint glasses and more.
Rose and Crown Pub
If you're looking for green beer this St. Patrick's Day, look no further than Rose and Crown Pub at Epcot. This British bar features the Guinness with a Shamrock head. And, of course, you have to try the Leaping Leprechaun with Myer's Platinum Rum, Skyy Vodka, Jameson Irish Whiskey, Melon Liqueur and Sweet-and-Sour topped with Sprite.
