The highly-anticipated roller coaster Cobra’s Curse opened at Busch Gardens Tampa today! Best of Orlando recently had a sneak peek at the family-coaster and we’re happy to report it is everything it promised to be, and much more!
The one-of-a-kind spin coaster takes those who dare through an archeological dig that has stumbled upon cursed grounds. Here an ancient evil snake king is trying to escape and along the way he’ll curse anybody who comes in contact with him. That’s bad news for you as you begin your cursed coaster ride.
Cobra’s Curse will put you face-to-face with a menacing 30,000-pound snake king icon as a 70-foot vertical lift takes you inches from its three-foot eyes and four-foot-long fangs. Once you’ve managed to escape the glare of the snake you’ll hear a booming voice that says, “yes I am the serpent, I am the darkness and now you are my mine!” and then you turn and plummet down 70-feet, and that’s just the beginning.
The 3.5-minute ride proceeds to take you on a thrilling and unpredictable adventure where you travel forwards, backwards and even spin freely along 2,100-feet of serpentine track at 40 miles per hour.
Due to the riders’ weight distribution, each trains spins randomly, meaning you won’t experience the same ride twice, unless you ride with the same people each time. You’ll feel Cobra’s Curse even before you step foot on the ride in the newest attraction’s air-conditioned queue. Here is where you will first come in contact with real-live snakes in a state-of-the-art exhibit featuring four exotic snake species, including the most feared and misunderstood viper snake.
