Disney’s Animal Kingdom will mark its 20th anniversary on Earth Day, April 22. The Walt Disney World Park will celebrate the milestone with more wild adventures than ever before including animal encounters, family-friendly activities, specialty desserts and more during the expanded Party for the Planet celebration April 22 through May 5.

Rafiki’s Planet Watch will offer much of the celebratory entertainment including backstage experiences with experts, where you can learn about animal nutrition, visit the veterinary hospital and hear how Disney promotes global wildlife conservation.

Kids can enjoy some kid-only fun with the chance to earn a limited-edition badge as part of the Wilderness Explorer program. The badge is one of many kids can earn by completing activities throughout the park.

Party for the Planet will include six different Tiffins Talks, themed dinners hosted by animal experts at Tiffins, Animal Kingdom’s signature, full-service restaurant.

Guests can also enjoy a commemorative adventure guide, limited-edition merchandise and a special-edition print created by renowned Walt Disney Imagineer Joe Rhode.

On April 22, Disney’s Animal Kingdom will also debut the new show, UP! A Great Bird Adventure, featuring Russell and Dug from the Disney-Pixar animated film UP. Senior Wilderness Explorer Russell and his dog Dug will take on new adventures that include encounters with exotic birds from around the world.

Beyond the 20th anniversary, Animal Kingdom will also bring a new “dino-tastic” celebration with Donald Duck and his friends. The dino-themed party celebrates Donald’s discovery that his bird ancestors were actually dinosaurs. Dinoland U.S.A. will feature new decor and playful character greetings from some of Donald’s family like Scrooge McDuck, Launchpad McQuack, and more. The party premieres Memorial Day Weekend.

Speaking of Memorial Day, Pandora – The World of Avatar will celebrate its one year anniversary. The land transports visitors to a mystical world of floating mountains, bioluminescent rainforests and adventures.
