Celebrate 70 years of alligators at Gatorland. The “Alligator Capital of the World” is spending 2019 reflecting back on its 70 years of gator entertaining and you’re invited to take part in the fun. This year is the perfect time to visit the park and take in all the famous alligators as well as other creatures. Here are just a few of the things to experience at Gatorland:
You can’t get through Gatorland without seeing an alligator or two. In fact, they are just about everywhere, including in the park’s main area where they can be found sunbathing and putting on shows such as Gator Jumparoo and Alligators: Legends of the Swamp.
In addition to the gators, Gatorland is home to many different reptiles and mammals including parrots, a Great Horned Owl, Florida Panthers, Texas Cougar, tortoises, the Eastern Coral Snake, the Florida Cottonmouth, Dusky Pygmy Rattlesnake and more. You can see most of these animals in the many exhibits and up-close encounters.
The thrills don’t stop at the animals. Gatorland will get your heart pumping with some darling excursions and adventures including the Screaming’ Gator Zipline. Voted “Best Zip Line in the USA” by AOL Travel, the Gator Zipline takes riders 7 stories up and lets them cruise along 1,200 feet of zipline. You’ll get a bird’s-eye-view of some of the park’s best attractions, including Cuban and Nile Crocodiles and the Alligator Breeding Marsh.
For a different kind of thrill check out the Gator Night Shine. Guests will get to see what an alligator is really like during its most wakeful hours - at night. This night tour takes you to the Alligator Breeding Marsh with just a flashlight and some gator food. Get ready for a unique way to see the animals most don’t get to experience. The Gator Night Shine is available every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
You can celebrate Gatorland’s 70th anniversary all year long with discounted tickets to the park right here on Best of Orlando.
