The Lion King has always been a major part if Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The wildly popular show, Festival of the Lion King made its debut with the park in 1998 and is still one of the highest-rated shows in Walt Disney World. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the animated film, The Lion King and Disney’s Animal Kingdom will come alive with characters, dance parties and scenes from the beloved film.

Let your inner wild animal out during the Hakuna Matata Time Dance Party at Discovery Island. Guests will be able to enjoy entertaining dances and games inspired by The Lion King.

Musicians and DJs will play popular songs from The Lion King all performed in a World Beat style. Characters form the film will also make appearances including Timon, Rafiki and their Disney animal friends Baloo, Koda, Meeko and Terk.

There will also be fun photo spots throughout the park, including a three-dimensional scene that looks like its leapt right out of the film. Starting this summer, the Tree of Life will awaken in the evenings with a new story, depicting moments from Simba’s journey with music inspired by the score of The Lion King.

The Lion King celebration at Disney’s Animal Kingdom takes place now through September 30.
