Cirque Du Soleil is bringing its newest Big Top show, Luzia - A Waking Dream of Mexico, to Orlando for the first time this March. Held under the Big Top at the Florida Mall March 8-31, the show depicts an imaginary, whimsical version of Mexico, with audiences going in between dreams and reality.
Cirque’s usual acrobatic performances and unique scenery will immerse visitors into a surreal world of Mexico where “light quenches the spirit and rain soothes the soul.” This experience combines Mexican tradition, mythology and cultural nuance to bring to light Mexico in a whole new, fantastical way, making audiences feel as if they are wandering through a daydream.
Highlights of the production include aerialists flying through rain while suspended from a trapeze, hoop divers performing on oversized treadmills, contortionists bending in unnatural ways, high-speed jugglers, Cyr Wheel artists, and more awesome feats.
This is the first-time rain has been incorporated into a Cirque production. This alone is worth seeing the show.
Luzia - A Waking Dream of Mexico performs on select dates March 8 through 31. Showtimes vary depending on day. You can step inside this dreamlike world with discounted tickets to the show right here on Best of Orlando.
