The next few years will be pretty exciting around the Walt Disney World resort. From new lands and resort hotels to new modes of transportation, there’s never been a better time to come experience the Most Magical Place on Earth! The Disney Skyliner system has been in preparation for quite some time, but Disney has officially announced an opening date for this new mode of transportation. The Disney Skyliner gondolas will begin picking up guests around Walt Disney World resort on September 29, 2019!

The Disney Skyliner connects two theme parks and four resort hotels all while offering amazing views of the property that can only be seen from this new sky view. This new state-of-the-art transportation system is about to become the most popular way to travel between Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios! Guests staying at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney’s Pop Century Resort, and Disney’s Riviera Resort (scheduled to open in December 2019) will enjoy taking advantage of this new, fantastic point of view on their way to and from the parks.

The Disney Skyliner cabins are bright and colorful, and some even feature graphics based on Disney films, attractions, and characters. While the cabins cover the classics like Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, and Chip & Dale, guests will be pleasantly surprised by some of the other Disney stories taking flight! Keep an eye out of cabins inspired by films like Coco, Finding Dory, Monsters, Inc., and Ratatouille. Mickey’s friends Goofy, Pete, Horace Horsecollar, and Clarabelle Cow can also be found on some of these special cabins. Last but certainly not least, classic attractions like the Haunted Mansion and the Pirates of the Caribbean has inspired the graphics on some Disney Skyliner cabins, so beware of hitchhiking ghosts and pillaging pirates!

The month of July is already almost over, which means that the Disney Skyliner will be transporting guests across property before we know it. Seeing big changes like this new transportation system finally open helps to build the excitement for Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary in a little over 2 years! We can’t wait to see what’s in store for the Most Magical Place on Earth.
