With summer around the corner, there’s no better time to explore the amazing pools at Walt Disney World resorts. Did you know that every Disney World resort has not one – but multiple pools? There most definitely isn't a shortage of poolside fun in Orlando. Ready to get wet? Let's dive into our favorite pools.
1) Stormalong Bay at The Yacht and Beach Club
If you're an avid Disney fan, then you’re probably not surprised that this pool nabs our number 1 spot. The absolute best pool on the Walt Disney World property is Stormalong Bay. Here you'll find a shallow sand pool, perfect for little ones who want to splash in the water and build sand castles. After a long day at the parks, the whole family can relax while floating in a tube on the winding lazy river. Looking for a bit more excitement? Venture to the giant shipwreck and launch down the 230-foot waterslide. Adults can grab a drink at Hurricane Hanna's grill and soak in one of the multiple hot tubs nearby. Stormalong Bay isn't just a pool – it's a fun-filled waterpark that will keep your family coming back for more.
2) Big Blue Pool at The Art of Animation Resort
Have you ever listened to music while swimming underwater? Now you can. Themed after Finding Nemo, this pool is bursting with bright colors and tropical accents – you really do feel like you've gone under the sea with Nemo and friends. You can listen to your favorite Disney songs while swimming in the largest pool at the Disney Resorts. Kids can splash and play at the nearby Schoolyard Playground or stay dry while having fun at Squirt's Righteous Reef. For adults: Enjoy tropical drinks at The Drop Off pool bar, while watching your little ones soak in that Disney magic.
3) Lava Pool
Recently refurbished in 2015, the Lava Pool at The Polynesian Village Resort is not one to miss. This pool features a volcano waterslide that’s a hit with the family. In addition to the zero-depth entry, you'll find the Kiki Tiki water play area for the kids and a poolside bar and semi-secluded hot tub for the adults. Not only does Lava Pool have fantastic theming, it’s located right on Seven Seas Lagoon with a beautiful view of the Magic Kingdom – including the nightly fireworks show!
4) Samawati Springs Pool at The Animal Kingdom Lodge
Similar to the Beach Pool, Samawati Springs Pool at the Animal Kingdom Kidani Villas boasts a 128-foot waterslide, zero-depth entry and a nearby lounge and bar. What makes this pool unique is the adjoining Uwanja Camp, a water playground with three different areas for kids of all ages. Toddlers and preschoolers can make a splash at the bubbling geysers of Observation Station. Children 5 to 7 years of age can explore the leaky water tower and kids 8 and up will most definitely enjoy spraying each other with water cannons.
5) Fuentes del Morro at The Caribbean Beach Resort
Have a pirate lover in the family? This is your must-visit pool. The Fuentes del Morro pool is themed like a colonial Spanish fortress and includes two slides, water spray cannons and a shipwreck play area. Adults also have something to look forward to: There’s a large spa pool and nearby Banana Cabana bar. In addition to Fuentes del Morro, The Caribbean Beach Resort has five leisure pools to enjoy.
Honorable Mention: Beach Pool at The Grand Floridian Resort and Spa
We couldn't leave the Beach Pool at Disney's Grand Floridian off our list. This pool sports a 181-foot-long waterslide, an Alice in Wonderland-themed play area, zero-depth entry (so you really do feel like you're at the beach!) and a nearby pool bar.
