Earth Day is right around the corner, and it only seems fitting that Walt Disney World’s animal-inspired park has an exciting celebration planned! Disney has announced an all-new event, Party for the Planet, that will take place from Saturday, April 20, 2019 to Monday, April 22, 2019. During this limited time celebration, Disney’s Animal Kingdom will be offering a variety of family-friendly park offerings to help guests explore the wonders of nature.
Art with a Cause
Disney’s Animal Kingdom is making a big statement pollution of the oceans and waterways with a larger-than-life statue on display in the Oasis. No guest will be able to miss the giant, 11-foot tall Adélie penguin made completely from recycled marine debris! This year Disney’s Animal Kingdom is working with a nonprofit organization WashedAshore.org who created the sculpture to inspire guests to keep oceans and waterways free from plastic pollution. This work of art is on display just in time for the Disneynature film Penguins, which premieres in theaters on Wednesday, April 17.
