This year is one of many milestones at Disney’s Hollywood Studios! The park turned 30 back on May 1, 2019, and today Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith is celebrating its 20th anniversary. As one of the most thrilling attractions on property, this coaster is a must do for any roller coaster junkie! To celebrate two decades of rock ‘n’ roll on Sunset Boulevard, we’re sharing five fast facts about this attraction.

Aerosmith Attended the Grand Opening
This one-of-a-kind coaster opened on July 29, 1999 and its Grand Opening was a star-studded event! Aerosmith was there for the opening, and band members rode the new attractions numerous times that day. All these years later, Steven Tyler still makes an effort to ride Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster when he’s in the park!

Serious (Speaker) Business
Did you know this attraction has 900 speakers total? Each guest is surrounded by five speakers in fact! Four speakers are located around their head, and there’s one subwoofer under their seat. Depending on which superstretch limo you’re riding in, you’ll hear a different Aerosmith medley. Since there are five operated limos, there are five possible medleys you can experience! The first features “Young Lust,” “F.I.N.E,” and “Love in an Elevator, the second features “Nine Lives”, the third features “Sweet Emotion”, the fourth features “Back in the Saddle” and “Dude Looks Like a Lady”, and the fifth features “Love in an Elevator” and “Walk This Way”!

Super Stretch Limo
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster features limousines with some serious stretch! Each ride vehicle contains 12 rows of seats and can fit 24 passengers at a time. The inspiration for the design of these blue super stretch limos were the 1962-era Cadillacs! How many limos are there you may ask? Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster has six limos in total, but only five limos can be used on the track at a time. You can tell them apart based on their unique license plates! Clever plates like “1QKLIMO”, “2FAST4U”, “BUHBYE”, “H8TRFFC” and “UGOGIRL” just add to the overall fun of these super speedy limos.

A Really Fast Car
Guests who want to ride Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster must be at least 48” tall because it’s one of the biggest thrills at the Walt Disney World resort. This coaster features three inversions, including two rollover loops, and one corkscrew. The ride begins by sending guests from 0 to 60 miles per hour in less than three seconds! It’s been said that you experience 4.5 G forces during this initial launch.

Single Rider Attraction
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is one of only a few Walt Disney World attractions that offer a single rider line! If you’re riding alone or if your party doesn’t mind getting separated once it’s time to board, take advantage of the Single Rider line to save time for more attractions in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The single rider line is always significantly shorter, so this is a great vacation hack for those looking to get one more ride in on Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster!

Walt Disney World is known for its outstanding attractions and Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is no exception. After two decades of entertaining countless theme park guests, this attraction is still one of the most exciting in all of the resort! If you’re a thrill seeker looking to rock out to Aerosmith, don’t forget to Walk This Way to the end of Sunset Boulevard to experience Rock ‘N’ Roller Coaster.
