Universal Orlando guests are in for an amazing treat this year. Experience an all-new awe-inspiring and entertaining parade like no other during Universal's Holiday Parade Featuring Macy's (through January 6). This completely new parade features some of your favorite characters in beautiful highly detailed floats and high-flying balloons. And it wouldn't be a proper holiday parade without a visit from Santa himself to light the big Christmas tree at the end. Plus, he's bringing a few surprises with him along the way. Check out all the reasons why this year's parade is going to be the best one yet!
15 intricately detailed floats
New floats featuring popular characters join completely re-imagined holiday favorites this year, all decked out with advanced LED lighting and integrated special effects. The hilarious Minions from Illumination’s Despicable Me are getting into trouble while decorating their Christmas tree and playing in the snow. DreamWorks’ Shrek is celebrating the holidays in his swamp with Fiona and their baby ogres. And the furry characters of DreamWorks’s Madagascar are inviting you to their tropical holiday party. Following close behind is Santa Claus himself riding on his iconic sleigh and flying over rooftops with his magical reindeer.
16 larger-than-life balloons
It wouldn't be the holiday parade without seeing massive balloons soaring above you. There are 16 this year – 13 of them designed by Macy's exclusively for Universal. Watch as Bob from Illumination’s Minions flies through the air chasing after his beloved teddy bear. The adorably weird Dronkeys (donkey-dragon-babies) and Gingy join other characters from DreamWorks’ Shrek. There's even a gigantic pineapple that King Julien from DreamWorks’ Madagascar has gifted... to himself! Other classic balloons like the toy soldier and Macy's iconic stars round out the collection this year.
More than 100 entertainers
There are more than 100 choreographed performers and every one of them has their own personality that ties to the theme for their section of the parade. From marching toy soldiers and happy helper elves to the three blind mice and Big Bad Wolf from the world of Shrek, this parade is filled with all sorts of colorful characters. Delight as they dance and interact with the crowd in all sorts of different ways.
An original score, snow and more!
Also new this year is an original musical score that will tug at your heartstrings, helping to create new magical memories. Your favorite characters sing wacky renditions of classic songs, too, including a special version of Santa Claus is coming to town by King Julien from Madagascar and Jingle Bells by the lovable Minions from the Despicable Me films. Santa's using his Christmas magic to bring snow wherever he goes during the parade for the first time ever! And of course the sky will fill with festive red and green confetti.
