Disney’s Hollywood Studios turned 30 years old on Wednesday, May 1, and the anniversary day was a truly star-studded occasion! Starting with a Disney Parks Blog Live stream at 9:55 AM, Hollywood Boulevard was home to a special anniversary parade. The parade featured Mickey and Minnie, the casts of some of the stage shows offered at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and even Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and Jessie in custom Luxo Jr. Ball-themed cars!

After the parade, Disney reminded the world of all the exciting adventures that are still to come for Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Some announcements had been in the works, and others were aspects that the world hasn’t heard of yet! Let’s take a look at some of the exciting things coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios in the near future.

New Toy Story Land Restaurant
Currently Toy Story Land only offers one quick service restaurant, so when Disney announced an all new rodeo-themed table service restaurant coming to Andy’s Backyard everyone was ecstatic! This future restaurant will be called Roundup Rodeo BBQ and will feature Andy’s touch in all of the decorations and details. Although menu information hasn’t been announced yet, the idea of this new dining location inside of Disney’s Hollywood Studios is an exciting start!

Wonderful World of Animation
Wednesday, May 1, 2019 wasn’t only the 30th anniversary of Disney’s Hollywood Studios, but also the start of the park’s newest nighttime projection show! Now showing nightly on the facade of the Chinese Theatre, this display of colorful animation, music, and fireworks is a exhilarating tribute to over 90 years of animation in Disney history. The show focuses on themes like love, friendship, family, and adventure, all while creating connections between Disney’s various animated masterpieces!

Upcoming Attractions
The next twelve months will be an exciting time of growth for Disney’s Hollywood Studios! As the summer comes to a close, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will be opening at the movie-themed park. This highly-anticipated 14-acre immersive land is set to open on Thursday, August 29, 2019! Spring 2020 will bring the first ride-through attraction in Disney Parks history to feature Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway. This attraction will be located inside the park’s center icon where the Great Movie Ride once resided, the Chinese Theatre.

New Logo
After three decades of change and growth, Disney’s Hollywood Studios still had one final surprise to reveal on during its anniversary celebration on Wednesday. For the very first time we all got a glimpse at the brand-new logo design for Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The new design is simplistic and features BB-8, Woody, and Mickey inside of the O’s of the logo. It is unknown if these character choices will change as time goes on and the park continues to evolve, but this logo is the first step into Disney’s Hollywood Studios’ fourth decade of movie magic.

In addition to these new announcements and offerings, Disney’s Hollywood Studios released an array of 30th anniversary merchandise that is now available while supplies last! Some of the merchandise offerings includes shirts and baseball caps, commemorative pins, MagicBands, and ornaments, and so much more.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios’ 30th anniversary has come and gone, but this is only the beginning of the excitement that is still to come for Walt Disney World’s third theme park! From new food options to immersive lands and one-of-a-kind attractions, the fourth decade is going to be a bright one for Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
