Big news is coming out of LEGOLAND Florida. The Winter Haven theme park announced last week that the park will open LEGO Movie World in the spring of 2019.

Based on The LEGO Movie and the upcoming sequel, the new world will put guests in the middle of Bricksburg, the city where Emmet lives in the movie. The new area will feature three rides, character meet-and-greets and a giant playground for kids.

“The sights and sounds will be fully immersive bringing the Lego movie franchise to life in a way that only a LEGOLAND park could,” LEGOLAND Florida General Manager Rex Jackson said in a news release. “We know kids come from all over the world to see the stars of the Lego movie, and we can’t wait to see their faces light up as they interact within the imaginative world of Bricksburg [the setting for the movies].”

A LEGOLAND Florida spokesperson said the new world will take over the land currently occupied by The World of Chima, which opened in 2013. The area’s one attraction, the interactive boat ride, The Quest for Chi, will be transformed into a new experience and reopen as a key attraction in The LEGO Movie World. The existing Quest for Chi will close on May 29.

The Winter Haven theme park has continually expanded since its opening in 2011, adding new attractions every year, including a water park and hotel, making the resort a multiway experience.
