Things are about to get even more thrilling at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The Orlando theme park will welcome the all-new attraction - Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy this spring. Visitors to the park will be able to step inside the world of Pixar’s Cars films and enjoy a high-speed adventure just like the characters from the movies.

Lightning himself will be on hand demonstrating what he’s learned as a racer over the years. He will use his brand-new state-of-the-art racing simulator and its wraparound screen to make audiences feel the speed of a race. But as racing goes, things don’t quite go as planned and rookie racers will be put to the test to help Lightning get things back on course. Along the way, you’ll experience the same high-speed chases and thrills from the Cars films.

As you race through this new adventure you’ll also speed past fellow Cars characters including Tow Mater, Cruz Ramirez and the rest of the gang from Radiator Springs. They’ll all be on hand to help Lightning emerge victorious.

After the show, riders will have the chance to snap a photo with trainer-turned-racer Cruz Ramirez just outside of the Academy.

Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy is just one of several new attractions coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios this year. Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway, the first-ever Mickey Mouse themed ride, will open in the former Great Movie Ride space sometime at the end of the year. Stay tuned for more details.
