Exciting changes are coming the Conservation Station at Disney’s Animal Kingdom! Earlier this year it was announced that Rafiki’s Planet Watch, Affection Section, and the Wildlife Express would be reopening this summer, but Disney’s latest announcement is inspired by the company’s history in wildlife animation. Walt Disney had a personal passion for ensuring that his animators could relay realistic characters and settings for wildlife animation, and by having his animators spend time with animals this quality of animation was achieved!
The Animation Experience will be launching at Conservation Station on July 11, 2019. In honor of the anniversary of The Lion King the Animation Experience will offer guests the opportunity to learn how live animals and their characteristics have inspired some of the biggest characters in this iconic Disney film. During this experience you’ll be able to create a personalized piece of Disney artwork through an instructor-led animation class -- all while learning about some of the animals that call Disney’s Animal Kingdom home!
Just in time for the 25th anniversary of The Lion King and the premiere of the live-action film later this summer, guests can expect to see a few of their favorite characters from the movie as the stars of the Animation Experience. Stop by this new attraction at Conservation Station to learn how to draw Pumba, Simba, Timon, Zazu, and more! Each session of the Animation Experience will be different, which means you’ll want to visit often to collect them all. FastPass+ is also available for the Animation Experience, in fact guests can start reserving their FastPass+ reservations today!
Animals have been a part of Disney storytelling for over six decades, and attractions like the Animation Experience allow guests of all ages to connect with the magic of nature. This new offering along with many other Lion King themed treats and experiences are why now more than ever guests should visit Disney’s Animal Kingdom this summer!
