Spotted at Walt Disney World: 55 Disney-themed gondolas for the Disney Skyliner system that’ll transport guests throughout the Orlando them park later this year.
After nearly two years of construction, the cabins are finally out and performing test runs back-and-forth between Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
When the Skyliner opens this fall, guests of Disney Skyliner Resorts, which include Disney’s Riviera Resort, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney’s Pop Century Resort and Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, will be able to enjoy transportation between Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Guests will ride alongside Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Lilo & Stitch, and the Hitchhiking Ghosts form the Haunted Mansion attraction.
Last week, Disney removed protective covers revealing 55 brightly colored cabins. There are eight core colors including multiple shades of blue and red. Some are monotone while others feature Disney characters and attractions. Beauty and the Beast, Pirates of the Caribbean, Star Wars, Toy Story and Winnie the Pooh are just some of the franchises highlighted.
The cabins feature a total of six windows that open on three sides. “Each cabin can accommodate up to 10 guests, including those traveling with wheelchairs or assistive devices,” said a Disney Parks blog post. “And with the system constantly in motion, guests will arrive at their selected destinations in minutes while enjoying the comfort of cabins specifically tailored for the Florida climate.”
Stay tuned for more details on the Disney Skyliner and its many cabins.
