Central Florida is not just a place for families and children anymore. In fact, for the past several years the entertainment scene in Orlando has shifted from children to adults in the hopes of convincing guests that while Orlando is a great place for kids, it’s also a perfect getaway just for parents!
While the theme parks may not immediately come to mind when you are thinking of Orlando’s Top Nighttime Hot Spots, there are actually tons of things to do there at night, including night shows, fireworks displays and live entertainment. But even if you don’t have a ticket to get into a park, or one of our other selections, Epcot ® World Showcase, there are still plenty of things going on each and every night at Disney’s BoardWalk entertainment district, the Disney Springs ® and Universal’s CityWalk!
If live music is more your idea of a nightlife scene, Orlando has two venues that deliver up some of the best live entertainment in the entire area at the House of Blues ® and Hard Rock Live. Located at Disney Springs ®, the House of Blues ® has nightly live music playing both inside and out, while also showcasing both up-and-coming and national recording artists in their intimate venue inside. The Hard Rock Live, at Universal Orlando Resort, plays to big names as well along with comedians who drop in to entertain the crowds.
The theme park district of Orlando isn’t the only hot spot for the adults-only crowd, however, as Orlando’s International Drive is home to more spots, Pointe Orlando (a shopping, dining and entertainment complex) and Howl at the Moon (a dueling piano bar that gets the crowd into the action). Plus, Orlando’s famous dinner shows also get top billing as well for their mixture of great entertainment and multi-course meals! Mango’s Tropical Cafe, Sleuths Mystery Dinner Show and Medieval Times are just a few of our favorites.
Central Florida will always be marketed as a place for families and kids, but if there is one thing this Top 10 list proves, it’s that Orlando is certainly not just a place for children anymore!
