The Most Magical Place on Earth has a lot in store for the rest of 2019. From anniversaries to new attractions and offerings, Walt Disney World is a pretty exciting place to be this year! For those planning to visit Orlando, here’s a breakdown of the experiences you can look forward to on your upcoming trip!
Mickey Mouse turned 90 last November, but the birthday celebration is still in full swing at Magic Kingdom. Guests can continue to experience the fun and festive Mickey & Minnie’s Surprise Celebration until Monday, September 30. Some of the event’s specialty offerings include the Move It! Shake It! MousekeDance It! Street Party, the chance to meet Mickey and Minnie Mouse dressed in their birthday best, and tons of limited time food options and merchandise inspired by this birthday milestone.
It’s currently Flower and Garden Festival season at Epcot, which means it’s time for all things fresh, food, and floral! The festival will run until Monday, June 3, but there’s still plenty to see and do before it comes to an end. From a self-guided topiary tour of over 70 pieces to a butterfly garden and Bo Peep’s new playground, there’s something for everyone on your Disney vacation! Once the festival season is over, Epcot will be welcoming back the Guardians of the Galaxy -- Awesome Mix Live! Show from Friday, June 14 until Sunday, August 18.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
2019 is a big year of Disney’s Hollywood Studios who will be celebrating its 30th anniversary on May 1! The 30th anniversary celebration touches can be spotted throughout the park with themed flags and many new and future experiences on the horizon. On its 30th anniversary, Disney’s Hollywood Studios will premiere their new nighttime projection show, Wonderful World of Animation! Another new park experience that recently opened was Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy. This new attraction opened to the public on Sunday, March 31, 2019 and is a first-of-its-kind show that takes guests right into the Cars universe!
Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Disney’s Animal Kingdom celebrated its 20th anniversary in April of last year, but there’s another anniversary celebration taking place in 2019 at this park! The classic Disney film, The Lion King turns 25 this year, so leave it to Walt Disney World’s animal-themed park to take on all of the anniversary festivities. The park now features special Lion King-theme photo spots, a Hakuna Matata Time Dance Party, and quite a few other nods to the Disney classic like the ever-popular stage show The Festival of the Lion King! This 25th anniversary celebration will end on Monday, September 30, so don’t miss your chance to check out these wild new offerings.
