The brand-new Ice Breaker will be SeaWorld Orlando's first launched roller coaster when it opens in the Spring of 2020. Named after the icy Arctic summits, this exciting new attraction is being constructed near the Wild Arctic attraction. The lead coaster car was just revealed during the IAAPA Expo at the Orange County Convention Center, giving us our first glimpse at how we'll be soaring down the steepest vertical drop in Florida when this new ride opens!
With brightly colored orange track and the beautifully blue and white coaster trains manufactured by Premier Rides, riders will cut through the Ice at speeds of up to 52 miles per hour. The new coaster will feature 2,750 feet of track traveled, taking riders on an exhilarating 90-second journey that will feature four launches, in both forward and backward directions. With a 93-foot tall spike and a 100-degree angle, it will be Florida's steepest coaster drop!
Despite the thrills and the speeds, Ice Breaker will be a family coaster, sporting a 48-inch height requirement. This family-friendly thrill ride joins SeaWorld Orlando's already amazing line-up that includes the roller coaster thrills of Mako, Manta and Kraken, the water rapids of Infinity Falls and the flume fun of Journey to Atlantis.
Located near the Wild Arctic attraction, Ice Breaker's theme not only fits this area of the park, but it is also a nod to SeaWorld's new conservation partner, Alaska SeaLife Center. Dedicated to research, education and wildlife response, the Alaska SeaLife Center's mission matches closely to SeaWorld's, making them the perfect partner to help educate riders about how we can help preserve the Arctic's natural habitat and its inhabitants.
Don't miss your chance to experience the impressive new quadruple launch coaster, Ice Breaker, when it opens this coming Spring in 2020 at SeaWorld Orlando. You don't want to be left out in the cold!
