Epcot’s Spaceship Earth turned into the Death Star

We have lots of exciting news coming about Star Wars from Disney today. First off, as Star Wars fans count down the days until the premiere of “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” on December 16, Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World is offering a taste of the newest Star Wars film.

AWR Troopers from the film will debut at Disney’s Hollywood Studios very soon. The AWR (Advanced Weapons Research) Troopers will appear in a new scene in the “Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away” daytime show.

In addition to the AWR Troopers, Star Wars Launch Bay will be updated with props and replicas from “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.” Shoretrooper Blaster, Director Krennic’s Imperial Shuttle, a Death Star maul, a U-wing gunship and more will be on display.  Making of footage will also be added to the behind-the-scenes film in Launch Bay Theater.

Disney also announced the popular nighttime show “Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular,” will return to Disney’s Hollywood Studios on December 16.

Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular will return in 2017

Meanwhile, Star Tours - The Adventures Continue will be getting a revamp this December. The attraction will switch back to offering randomized beginnings and final destinations.

In 2017, while we wait for the opening of Star Wars Land, Disney’s Hollywood Studios will welcome back Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular Dessert Party. The offering includes Star Wars cupcakes, cookies, brownies and a selection of snacks.

Finally, a new Star Wars Guided Tour is in the works. The seven-hour guided tour will be led by a Star Wars “all-in-the-know” tour guide and include a journey on Star Tours - The Adventures Continue; an opportunity to participate in Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple; a guided exploration of Star Wars Launch Bay, dinner at a quick-service restaurant featuring Star Wars-themed items; the Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular Dessert Party; fireworks viewing and more.
