Taylor Swift

Walt Disney World ® let down their hair earlier this week when they revealed the latest portrait in their Disney Dream Portrait Series with six-time Grammy winner and country music star Taylor Swift as the blonde super long haired Princess, Rapunzel. Created by famed photographer Annie Leibovitz, the portrait features Swift sitting on the ledge of a window in her tower peering off into the distance as her long flowing blonde hair wraps around the tower. The portrait is captioned, “Where adventure awaits.”

Swift’s interpretation of the long-manned princess comes just as Magic Kingdom ® constructs what appears to be Rapunzel’s tower from the Disney ® movie “Tangled” in the new Fantasyland. Part of the Princess Fairytale Hall coming this spring, the tower is located next to “It’s a Small World,” attraction, right where the old Fantasyland Skyway was and is so large it can be seen throughout Fantasyland, Frontierland and even from the Haunted Mansion queue. Despite previous rumors that Rapunzel would be greeting guests in the actual tower, the tower itself will, surprisingly be turned into neat bathroom area in New Fantasyland. But don’t worry you can still find Rapunzel roaming the Princess Fairytale Hall nearby greeting royal subjects with fellow Disney ® Princesses Cinderella, Aurora (Sleeping Beauty,) Tiana (The Princess and the Frog) and others.

Swift as Rapunzel is just one of many Leibovitz has created for the Disney Dream Portrait series over the past six years. Each portrait features well-known celebrities transformed into the role of famous Disney characters including Olivia Wilde as the Evil Queen and Alec Baldwin as the spirit of the magic mirror from “Snow White,” Penelope Cruz and Jeff Bridges as Belle and the transformed prince from “Beauty and the Beast,” Queen Latifah as Ursula from “The Little Mermaid,” Russell Brand as Captain Hook from “Peter Pan” and Jack Black, Will Ferrell and Jason Siegel as the three Hitchhiking Ghosts Phineas, Ezra and Gus from the Haunted Mansion.

Stay tuned for more details about the new Princess Fairytale Hall and which celebrity has been chosen to portray another famous Disney ® character for the Disney Dream Portrait Series. In the meantime you can enjoy the rest of the new Fantasyland’s magic with a meet-and-greet with Gaston at Gaston’s Tavern, a trip under the sea with Ariel in Under the Sea – Journey of the Little Mermaid, re-live the popular scenes from “Beauty and the Beast” with Belle in Enchanted Tales with Belle and ride a flying elephant on Dumbo The Flying Elephant ride with discounted Disney’s Magic Your Way ® tickets right here on Best of Orlando.
