The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando is filled with magical experiences for all ages. With two lands spread across two theme parks, each packed with their own attractions, dining and shopping, it can be a lot to take in. Sometimes, you need to take a break and grab a drink – or three. Here are some wizarding drinks for the grown-ups while the kids are enjoying their Butterbeer.
Hog's Head Brew, Wizard’s Brew and Dragon Scale Draft Beers
These exclusive brews are only served at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. The Hog's Head Brew was the first exclusive beer created for the land and is only found at Hog's Head Pub in the middle of Hogsmeade Village. It's a smooth red ale similar in taste to Killian’s Irish Red. The Wizard’s Brew and Dragon Scale is only poured at Diagon Alley, at The Leaky Cauldron, The Fountain of Fair Fortune and The Hopping Pot. Wizard's Brew is a dark, sweet stout with notes of chocolate and coffee while the Dragon Scale is an amber lager. The Wizarding World also offers traditional muggle beers like Stella Artois and Guinness.
Fire Whisky
Wizards and witches looking for something a bit stronger have come to right place. Fire Whisky is the first exclusive liquor of the Wizarding World. Find it at Diagon Alley at The Fountain of Fair Fortune and The Hopping Pot as well as Hogsmeade at the Hog's Head Pub. This strong cinnamon whisky goes down smoother than Fireball Whisky, but with all of the flavor. Order it as a shot, a double shot or in a mixed drink. One of the more popular options is to get it mixed with a Strongbow apple cider for a deliciously powerful apple cinnamon beverage.
The Triple
Unofficially nicknamed the "Deathly Hallows," The Triple is a specialty drink you'll only find at the Hog’s Head Pub in Hogsmeade – it's not on the menu so you'll have to ask for it by name. This beautifully layered drink is just as good tasting as it is good looking. The drink is made up of a layer of golden Strongbow Cider on the bottom, then the amber hued Hog's Head Brew in the middle and it’s finished with a dark layer of Guinness on top. Other combinations can be ordered like the Black Hog, made of Hog's Head Brew on the bottom and Guinness on top, or a traditional Black and Tan, which is Bass topped with Guinness.
Hog’s Tea
This is another Hog's Head Pub exclusive, and it’s one of the strongest drinks at the resort. It's similar to a traditional Long Island Iced Tea with one major exception: Instead of a splash of cola, the Hog's Tea uses actual iced tea as a mixer. It's made with raspberry tea which offers a sweet and easy-to-drink combination, but you can request regular sweet tea or even unsweetened tea if you prefer. And here's a tip: Ask for a large 16oz cup instead of the regular 12oz cup. The amount of alcohol will be the same, but you'll get more tea in it which makes the drink last longer and the flavor a little more mellow.
Pear Dazzle
If you're looking for something more on the fruity and fun side, try this pear-flavored mixed drink at the Hog's Head Pub in Hogsmeade. It's a concoction of vodka, non-alcoholic pear cider, lemonade and garnished with a maraschino cherry. This is a popular alternative to the heavier beverages of the Wizarding World since it's so light and drinkable.
