Universal Orlando’s Volcano Bay will cool you down with a grand opening in summer 2017!

There is no better place in the world than Orlando for fun in the sun. From the iconic splashy rides at the theme parks to the greatest water parks in the country, here’s our roundup of 5 exciting new ways to stay cool in Orlando this summer

Universal’s Volcano Bay Water Theme Park
Universal’s new water theme park is Orlando’s splashiest opening in summer 2017. With four immersive lands containing 18 state-of-the-art attractions, this Pacific Island-themed resort is raising the bar for what a water park can be. The star attraction is Krakatau Aqua Coaster, the first water coaster in Orlando, which is like a water slide and roller coaster in one. Ride in canoes around dark twists and turns through the 200-foot-tall volcano at the center of the park, plunging through a shimmering waterfall at the end. What really sets Volcano Bay apart from other water parks is TapuTapu. This revolutionary wristband allows you to tap an icon at the entrance to a ride, and instead of standing in line you can spend that time enjoying other parts of the park. When it’s your time to ride, your TapuTapu lets you know, giving you more time to lounge out by the wave pool or sample some of the island-inspired food and drinks. After sunset, the massive volcano will erupt in a fiery lava display – the perfect way to top off the day. Get tickets to

Encounter your favorite sea creatures, including dolphins, at Discovery Cove

Discovery Cove
If you haven’t experienced Discovery Cove you’re missing out on one of the most beautiful, adventurous, and relaxing places in the world. Plus, it’s Orlando’s only all-inclusive day resort with unlimited access to food and drinks all day long, including frozen drinks for kids and beer for adults! Don’t miss Discovery Cove’s newest attraction: Freshwater Oasis. Here, you’ll come face-to-face with playful otters and curious marmosets, all while you’re still in the water. Afterward, relax in a hammock by the beach, explore a saltwater reef filled with thousands of fish and large gentle rays and swim with bottlenose dolphins. Or, spend all day in the Wind-Away River. Surrounded by dense foliage you’ll float through pristine waters on a wide winding river, passing through coves with serene waterfalls and a huge aviary populated with colorful birds that soar above. Have a blast on Miss Adventure Falls at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon

Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park
Not only is Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon one of Orlando’s best water parks, it’s also one of the most beautiful. The slides and rides here are perfectly integrated into the tropical scenery, and the wave pool holds this impressive title: It’s the largest in North America. Brand new in 2017 is Miss Adventure Falls, a family raft attraction that takes riders on an exciting river journey through a collection of treasures and ancient artifacts. This fast-paced water slide features dramatic turns, splashes and family-friendly drops, but you’ll also meet a chatty parrot named Duncan who loves to talk and sing while he searches for more treasure. Take a plunger on Ihu’s Breakaway Falls at Aquatica, SeaWorld’s Water Park

Aquatica, SeaWorld’s Water Park
Enjoy white sandy beaches, slide through a pool of Commerson’s dolphins at the park’s signature Dolphin Plunge and enjoy the whimsical Australian-style theming of this water park conveniently located next door to SeaWorld Orlando. If you’re brave enough, face Ihu’s Breakaway Falls, Aquatica’s newest and most thrilling attraction. This drop slide is a first of its kind in Orlando and places two guests across from each other in chambers. You stand there with your arms crossed, not knowing which one of you will go first. As the chamber door closes you hear the sound of a heartbeat pounding. It grows louder and starts to beat faster, and when you least expect it, the trap-door opens beneath your feet sending you on a watery free fall. Get tickets to Aquatica, SeaWorld’s Water Park
