Epcot Celebrates 35 Years

Epcot celebrated its 35th anniversary on October 1 with Disney characters, performances by the park’s most popular musical acts, original cast members and much more. In case you missed the actual anniversary you can still celebrate with Epcot through cupcakes, merchandise, festivals and more. Here are the top 5 ways to celebrate 35 wonderful years:

Epcot International Food & Wine Festival
The 22nd Annual Epcot International Food & Wine Festival is currently spicing up taste buds at the park. What better way to pay tribute to Epcot than by eating your way through it? The culinary event serves up dishes from around the world in Epcot’s many pavilions. You can get a taste of it now through November 13.

IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth
For the 35th Anniversary on October 1, Epcot held a special IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth show. The nightly fireworks paid tribute to the park’s history. While the special ending was a one-night only thing, we still think IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth is an excellent way to celebrate the park. The show celebrates the spirit of humanity through explosive fireworks over the water. It is one of the most popular things to do at Epcot.

Epcot Specialty Cupcakes

Specialty Cupcakes
To mark the monumental occasion, Epcot has released specialty cupcakes at three locations in the park. Fountain View is serving up Spaceship Earth Cupcakes. The yellow cupcake has a strawberry pastry cream filling. The Spaceship Earth portion of the cupcake is a dome of cake covered in silver fondant. Sunshine Seasons is offering the Flower Pot Cupcake in honor of The Land Pavilion, with peanut butter and jelly filling. Sink your teeth into a vanilla cupcake with vanilla cream filling at Viking Cupcake at Kringla Bakeri og Kafe. The cupcake is topped with blue and white buttercream and red sprinkles to represent the Norwegian flag.

35th Anniversary Merchandise
Celebrate Epcot’s anniversary wherever you are with special 35th Anniversary Merchandise. Epcot has released a “I Was There” collection, which is a series of T-shirts, a hat and key chains. Disney character Figment has been a staple at the park for years so it is only appropriate that he be the face of the 35th anniversary. You can see him on several 35th anniversary merchandise items.

Celebration Flute
Nothing says celebration like a champagne toast. You can now toast to Epcot in a special celebration flute. The flute is served with Blanc de Bleu Cuvee Mousseux. The flute lights up and changes colors. The flute is available at Marketplaces while supplies last.
