Orlando, it’s time to prepare for battle! Early this morning it was reported that a large Downtown Orlando building was the victim of some sort of vandalizing. The Fairwinds Credit Union building now displays the outline of what can only be described as a giant alien robot that crashed through it’s glass windows, leaving a trail of destruction and this phrase, “Prepare for Battle June 20.”

The streets outside of the building are littered with fallen debris and smashed cars from what some are saying is the result of Evil lord Megatron’s quest for the All-Spark, a powerful energy source that if fallen into the wrong hands could destroy Earth. None of this is news to Orlando residents as Autobot leader Optimus Prime has recently warned us of the invasion via video clip during Universal Studio’s Cinematic Spectacular. He assured us that humans would be protected and that he and the Autobots would stop at nothing to keep us safe.

And we will soon be able to join the battle when Transformers: The Ride 3D debuts at Universal Studios on June 20! Check out the Universal Orlando YouTube clip released yesterday teasing the opening.

The fake destruction of the Fairwinds building is, of course, all a part of Universal’s promotion of the new attraction. There was a similar invasion in Hollywood at the Staples Center when the ride opened there a year ago.

This isn’t the first time Orlando has been invaded by Transformers. For the past few months guests to Universal Studios have been able to interact with Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, and, most recently, Evil lord Megatron, who meets, takes pictures with and even talks to guests. The Transformers have been spotted near Supply Vault, the official store for the upcoming attraction.

Aside from the destruction at the Fairwinds building and the Transformers already in the park, Universal has also launched an all-new “Join the Resistance” Facebook experience to prepare fans for what’s to come in June. According to a press release, “Recruits” can create their very own NEST IDs, train for battle, access exclusive photos and video and win prizes – including a trip to the attraction’s grand opening celebration on June 20.”

As far as the actual Transformers ride goes, the battle will begin when guests enter the headquarters for the government operation aka NEST facility that partners with Autobots to protect Earth from the Decepticons.  Once inside, you’re recruited to help protect the All-Spark. Riders will then board EVAC – an Autobot that has  been created specifically for the attraction, and help transport the All-Spark to safety, but not without a little trouble from the Decepticons.

Stay tuned for more details about Transformers: The Ride – 3D opening on June 20. In the meantime make sure you check out that Fairwinds building and meet-and-greet some of the Transformers at Universal Studios with tickets right here on Best of Orlando.
