Universal’s newest live show the Superstar Parade at Universal Studios has been luring in audiences for a few weeks now as it parades down the streets of the Orlando theme park showing off some of Universal’s most beloved characters, larger-than-life floats, state-of-the-art technology, music and energetic street performers. The daily parade is so visually stunning and captivating you almost don’t notice it is run by villains!

Some of Universal’s most popular bad guys are without a doubt the stars of the show during Universal’s Superstar Parade with the crowds hooting and hollering for more as they float past. Among the evil-doers you get to see are the two chicks Carlos and Phil from the Easter-themed movie HOP the grumpy neighbor and foe of SpongeBob, Squidward Tentacles from SpongeBob SquarePants, the orange jumpsuit wearing evil doer, Vector, and the biggest villain of them all Gru and his tiny yellow evil-doing friends the minions from Universal’s hit movie Despicable Me.

And while these “villains” may be a pain in the neck for the main characters of the movies and shows they all unite together on their floats for a parade that  not only lets us see our favorite Universal characters all together and outside of a movie theater but also sends a subtle message of tolerance. There appears to be no grief or mischievous behavior (well maybe a little) between any of the characters, just fun and excitement as they float along on their spectacularly brightly colored floats showing off their best dance moves and waves. In fact, these so called “villains” are the highlight of the show, particularly Gru and his minions from Despicable Me.

There are so many minions in Universal’s new Superstar Parade they even get their own float! That’s right, in addition to the main Despicable Me float, there are a few smaller floats with some of them packed to the brim with your favorite short, yellow and round, goggle-wearing bad guys and there are even people dressed in yellow shirts and suspenders that walk alongside the float pretending to be minions! The minions are certainly the highlight of the Despicable Me float as they dance, tumble and fall along the way.  Gru himself is atop one of his machines of mass destruction peacefully waving to the crowd as he floats by.

To see the villains of the Superstar Parade behaving not so badly you can find discounted Universal Orlando tickets right here on Best of Orlando. And while you’re at Universal make sure you stick around for the Orlando theme park’s new nightly show Cinematic Spectacular: 100 Years of Movie Memories at Universal’s lagoon.
