Discovering fabulous restaurants is always a great part of any vacation. Luckily, Orlando is home to amazing dining and entertainment complexes where you can enjoy a fantastic dinner, watch a movie, and go out for drinks all in the same location. If you think the only restaurants Orlando has are located inside the Orlando theme parks, we’re happy to say you’re mistaken! Orlando has a lot of great locations where you can enjoy amazing culinary experiences both in and outside of the parks.
If you want some fine dining inside the park, you can go to Victoria and Albert’s at the Walt Disney World Resort’s Grand Floridian. Victoria and Albert’s is the only 5 star restaurant within the Walt Disney World resort and one of the only places where children have to be ten or older to enter. Men are required to wear jackets and you are presented with a top-of-the-line four course meal. Over at the Universal Orlando Resort, their CityWalk complex takes care of dining and entertainment on 30 acres of fun.
CityWalk is home to shops, cinemas, and great restaurants and clubs. You will be able to find Emeril’s, the namesake restaurant of Emeril Lagasse. At Emeril’s you can find his classic Cajun food that always has that “BAM!” of a spicy twist. For those of you that are more laid back you can head to Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville for a dose of the islands right in Central Florida. Enjoy refreshing margaritas and the best cheeseburger you’ll ever have as you enjoy classic Jimmy Buffet tunes and other island-inspired songs. Speaking of the islands, Bob Marley Tribute to Freedom pays tribute to the Reggae King himself while The Bubba Gump Shrimp Company brings you delicious seafood all in the tradition of the classic movie Forrest Gump.
Pointe Orlando is another fantastic dining and entertainment complex located away from the theme parks for those of you wanting to avoid touristy areas. Here you will find an amazing theatre, great shopping with a range of high-end to low-end boutiques, and even more great restaurants. Enjoy guitar legend BB King’s Blues Club which not only features great food but also live entertainment. Friendly and recognizable chains like Hooters and Johnny Rocket’s are also available for those of you not wanting to stray too far from your comfort zone. If you love Mediterranean food enjoy shots of ouzo and the amazing food and fun of Taverna Opa. For the seafood lover in everyone, the elegant Oceanaire Seafood Room where you can enjoy Alaskan King Crab caught by the crews of the hit show Deadliest Catch.
Dinner shows are also a great part of dining in Orlando. You can enjoy a joust at Medieval Times where yes, you eat with your hands, or travel to the exotic world of Arabian Nights where you will visit the wedding of a prince and princess while watching an exciting adventure involving world class horses. Sleuths Mystery Dinner show puts you in the middle of the action as you help the cast of actors solve a mystery crime each night. At SeaWorld you can enjoy the Makahiki Luau and watch an amazing show based on the cultures of the Polynesian islands.
